St Lawrence College Cafeteria App Design
Project Rationale
This project is a conceptual mobile app designed in Figma for the St. Lawrence College cafeteria system. The app was created to improve accessibility and convenience by allowing students to browse menu items, view nutritional information, and place food orders before arriving at the cafeteria.
The interface provides detailed food information including pricing, ingredients, macros, allergens, and dietary labels such as halal, vegan, and daily specials to help students make more informed food choices. The app was specifically designed to support students who are health-conscious, track calories or macronutrients, or have dietary restrictions and food allergies by making important nutritional and allergen information easily accessible before purchase. The app also includes account balance top-up functionality and a mobile ordering system designed to streamline food pickup and reduce wait times.
The design uses a clean red-and-white colour palette inspired by SLC branding to create a simple, recognizable, and user-friendly interface focused on clarity, accessibility, and ease of navigation. This project focused on mobile UI/UX design, accessibility-focused interface design, information hierarchy, and improving user convenience through digital ordering systems.
