Brockville Support Hub Website & Brochure Design
Project Rationale
Brockville Support Hub is a conceptual desktop website and brochure system designed to help homeless and vulnerable individuals in Brockville and nearby communities access support services and emergency resources. While primarily focused on Brockville, the platform also connects users with nearby services in locations such as Kingston, Ottawa, Cornwall, and Prescott when local options are unavailable. The website includes searchable support categories, detailed service listings, pinned resources, and emergency crisis contacts to help users quickly find the assistance they need.
Designed in Figma, the website uses a welcoming green-and-black visual system, icon-based navigation, strong colour contrast, and simplified language to improve accessibility for vulnerable users and individuals with lower reading ability. Detailed service pages provide information such as eligibility requirements, intake processes, accessibility accommodations, hours of operation, and location details.
An accompanying brochure designed in Adobe InDesign was created for distribution through shelters, hospitals, and community support organizations. The brochure acts as a simplified offline version of the website while directing users to the full digital hub. This project focused on accessible UI/UX design, editorial design, information hierarchy, and socially focused design solutions.
