Videogame Progress Tracking Website
Project Rationale
This desktop and mobile website design was created to help solve a fundamental design problem that I identified. The problem I identified is that there are a lot of different videogame platforms with many different exclusive games and each platform lists achievements and progress for their games in different ways. To solve this problem I created a website design for both desktop and mobile which will be able to link with all videogame platforms and display all of your progress and achievements in one place. On top of that I also wanted to add more community features to the design to help make it more engaging. For the overall site design I chose to include a home screen that displays your favorited games and any recent activity, a profile page with customizable sections, a game library page where you can search through all of your videogames and view your stats, a friends page where you can view your friends and their profile pages as well as add new friends, and finally a connections page where you can connect all of your different gaming platforms to the website.
I decided to center the color palette around the color blue with elements like the header, footer, and divider bars being a light blue and other elements like buttons and text boxes being a darker blue to help them pop out more. Due to my color palette choice I also had to work around that to make sure all of the text was easily readable and had successful hierarchy. To do this I made sure to color any text that was inside any of the blue elements white so that it would pop out to the viewer. Finally, due to the website design being created for both desktop and mobile, I also made some small layout changes to better fit each breakpoint.
